Set in a tiny logging town and the huge magical forest that looms over it, Lottie Bearshout follows the anarchic adventures of a rascally 10-year-old girl and her best friend Hunter, a fun-loving, half-human-half-deer nature spirit as they explore each other’s worlds.

School. Chores. Brushing your teeth. Lottie is appalled that these are the things she’s made to do every day of her life. Luckily, her mountaintop cabin has direct access to the forest across the ravine and while her classmates are watching TV and doing their homework, Lottie’s textbooks are already halfway through a giant spider’s digestive tract and she’s waist-deep in a primordial swamp.

The show was based on the BAFTA-winning short film Good as Goaled which Wildseed developed and produced with Creators Tom Gran and Martin Woolley after Wildseed picked up a number of original concepts from these two exciting new British Creators.

MEET THE CREATORS

Tom Gran and Martin Woolley (The Spin Kick Bros) were among the first wave of people that Wildseed worked with soon after setting up in 2013. They appeared at our office - at that time in Miles’ house, with a memory stick with three concepts on that we loved - we decided there and then to invest in them and their projects. They were a year or so out of University at UWE so bursting with enthusiasm and looking for ways to take what they did to the next level.

The first things we made together were animatics for ‘Lone Wolves’ and ‘Rajesh Finesse’. Both were very well received by us and our followers, and we decided to make more episodes of ‘Lone Wolves’ with a bigger budget. We also started working with them to develop their show Lottie Bearshout, creating a Football-themed short for the European Championships in 2016 which went on to win a Children’s BAFTA and was then picked up for series development by Viskids. Tom and Martin have also directed Wildseed series for Frederator: Chris P Duck, (not)Hero and Slug Riot, as well as Tales from the Serengeti for BBC Three.
