Fullscreen Grabs Titles from Wildseed Studios

Today from a Newfronts presentation in New York City, Fullscreen announced a rebrand to Fullscreen Media, to cover the three in-house business divisions of the company. The company has also picked up various titles for distribution on its new streaming service from well-known digital production houses Wildseed Studios and Abominable Pictures.

From Wildseed Studios, Fullscreen has picked up two feature films from the “Hungerford” series, the first by the same name and a sequel “Ground Zero,” currently in post-production and set for distribution on Fullscreen.
“Hungerford,” which was created by 19 year old Drew Casson and tells the story of an alien invasion from a vlogger teen’s perspective, hit the film circuit in 2014 to much acclaim, winning Best Horror Sci-Fi at Berlin Independent Film Festival and inducting Casson as the youngest to debut a film and win a category at the fest. It’s sequel, “Ground Zero,” picks up where the first film finished as the world adjusts to being occupied by aliens.

Wildseed has also sold comedy horror series “Phillip Human,” which stars rising digital star Paul Neafcy, to Fullscreen.  “Phillip Human” follows main character Phillip as he stitches together a spooky mansion mystery and vlogs about his investigation of how and why he’s woken up alone at a Frankenstein-esque scene. Neafcy, an actor-writer, also wrote on “Jack and Dean Of All Trades,” another forthcoming comedy series on the service.

Wildseed Studios Creative Director Jesse Cleverly said “Wildseed Studios was created to develop and produce work from the next generation of talent for the next generation of platforms, and these three deals, all of which came from our digital pilots programme, represent all that we hoped for our company, the talent we work with, the work we make and the partners we seek to work with.”
